The Oxfordshire Historic Churches Trust annual Ride and Stride takes place on Saturday 8th September from 10 ‘til 6. It’s your chance to get the bike out, or your walking shoes (? and dog), and visit some lovely old churches in the area and beyond – picking up sponsorship money for each visit. Half the money you raise comes straight back to our parish, and the rest is used to make grants for the upkeep of some of the most beautiful buildings in the county. The imminent roof repairs at SS Peter and Paul received a grant so it’s particularly important that we give our support. We have a welcome table at the Parish Church and Holy Trinity to offer visiting cyclists a welcome, drink and a biscuit. Please sign the rotas to help welcome visitors. Sponsor forms, and the list of churches open are available in the Churches and at www.ocht.org.uk Ann and Andrew Gregory 223503 or email@example.com (note underscores)
Work to re-roof the South Transept of the Parish Church has started. It is expected to last for 15 weeks. During this time the transept is screened off with polythene sheet and the Easternmost door is not usable. There is alternative ramped access at the Western door. The North aisle ceiling will also being repaired and redecorated at this time. For the duration of the works daily Masses will be held in the Chancel.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused during these essential repairs.
Don't forget to check the Parish Diary here. It covers both churches and has up-to-date information about all regular and irregular services as well as occasional events such as concerts, festivals, fund raisers etc.
